I have somewhat of a dilemma on a school project. My project is a political music compilation CD, focusing on segregation and the Jim Crowe Laws. Now, Bob Dylan fits the bill perfectly for political music, but I am unsure if I should only include one artist. When I asked the teacher, i received the lovely sardonic remark of "What do YOU think is the right choice?" So, opinions would be a great help, and maybe some recommendations on political music of that era (?)

I suggest reposting that in here (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=457815)

Well it depends on what you mean by "that era" Bob Dylan was popular for a couple different era's of protest music. Though all that aside if I were doing a project on Dylan and needed another political person on my paper I would probally use Joan Baez. She was a folk protest artist like Dylan, and preformed with him on a couple of occasions and covered his songs, helping his career.

I would use more than one, to be on the safe side.
You have alot of choices from "that era" to put alongside Dylan: Lennon, Fogerty, Ritchie Havens, Neil Young, Country Joe MacDonald.
