Yeah, the new album was bad. When I originally heard that they were going to incorporate industrial elements, I was excited. Then, when the album turned out to be a few riffs hashed out over and over, I was pissed. Repetitive and pointless. Not to mention that the songs got old after two plays.

They had their heads in the right places, their execution of their ideas was the weakest thing ever though. And don't point out any Head puns in the previous sentence.

fieldys low bass was what made korn so unique. it made it sound all evil and heavy

JacksonDude675

look, if you dont like korn get out. but really, they produced this album with some record company that produces for hilary duff and a bunch of other pop s**t. jon and munky and evry one only wrote a couple of there songs them selves

No, it doesn't. It just makes the bass sound like grating metal strings, so it doesn't add anything to music and is just...there. Korn isn't unique and neither is Fieldy's bass tone.

If you want something that sounds evil, check out Darkthrone or Vehemence. They're both musically competent and original as well. :)

All they did was write some riffs, and the producers arranged them for the band. That kind of explains the downright blandness.

the bass is what makes most of korns songs sound heavy besides the drop A guitar, I said it once and ill say it again, if you dont like korn get out! and feildys bass tone is unique. you tell me 3 other bands that have their bass strings so low that almost all you can hear is rattling

The bass doesn't make most of Korn's songs, as I said before, it ditched its duty as providing bass for the band and instead wanted to sound like a bunch of monkeys banging metal plates with hammers.

Drop A is pretty ridiculous. The only band I know of that can downtune to drop A and pull it off rather well is Nile. Drop tunings do not make a band heavy. Opeth and Kalmah are (were, in the case of Kalmah) in standard tuning, and are quite frankly 1000x heavier than Korn.

Also, this a board of free opinion. You have no right (or power)to boot me out of a thread just because we have conflicting views. Welcome to MX. :)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Korn's major appeal was how raw they were, they basically lost that with Issues but at least remained a bit weird which is why the last couple of albums were decent, once Head left they died htough.

fury, korn is one of the greatest numetal bands ever. they define numetal. infact they are the only nu metal band i like

There is some Korn material that is decent. The new album is a horrid excuse for music, IMO.

I'd say Korn has a ton of amazing music under their belts, but as you said, the new album is an atrocity.

Wonderful, a good 95% of Nu-Metal is horrid. Check out Karnivool; they're pretty good.

Also, whether or not Korn is one of the greatest Nu Metal bands ever is a matter of opinion. "Because you said so", does not make it fact.

The last Korn album was Life Is Peachy, afterwards they completely changed their direction and persued a more 'experimental' feel. Take A Look In The Mirror was just a shitty attempt to recreate their first album, a good example being the riff shared commonly between Alive and Need To.

Hey dumbass, the thread is called "ANYONE ELSE THINK SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE SUCKS?"

And the first post says: anyone who thinks the newest album by korn, see you on the other side, completley sucks, come here!

And now you are saying "IF YOU DON"T LIKE KORN THEN GET THE **** OUT!!!"

A bit confusing if you ask me.

Also, I vote Aye!
