View Full Version : USB Midi-Interface thingy for recording?

I need this for recording onto my computer.......
ANy cheap references?? If i havent been rather.....descriptive then something like these pics:

Im not sure which typ of one to get? I use Audacity for mixing etc. but i need something to plug my guitar/mic into.
Please help. :)

Whatabout just an adapter to keep me going? Would you advise it?

when i first started..i just used a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter...and recorded direct with that...it worked fine...but i wanted one of these things later.

so yeah...just use an adapter if you want.

Cool.... and do you use a gearbox program to provide distortion settings etc?

you can get that from your audio recording software....(i use a pod) but sometimes i'll record clean and use the program for the effects

Kk.... Do you think I will need to get any audio recording software straight away?
Im gonna get a Line 6 Toneport UX 1 or the TASCAM US-122 in like a week but untill then would just using my amp settings and guitar plugged DI with a 1/4" to 1/8" jack do the job?

Do you have any experience with the Line 6? My friend told me about it.
Which would you say is better? Like with the Line 6 a gearbox program for settings comes with it..... will one one come with the Tascam as well?
