Best multi-track PC recording software...

right now i am using adobe audition. I have my amp connected to the line in on my soundblaster live! 24 card. When recording it seems to lag a bit and not line up right when playing back.

I would like to try out another program.

Any suggestions?

That's latency.

The reason is because the SB Live! 24-bit card only comes with MME and WDM drivers, not ASIO. Those are basic Windows drivers, with algorithms designed for unmonitored playback.


So yeah, I have the same problem. One thing I have found to help is to decrease the buffer speed, (if you can in audition) so that the response is faster. There still will be a noticeable delay, but I found that it's workable, even when monitoring using Guitar Rig or Amplitube.

It worked for me. I don't know what to tell you other then retrying it.
