The other day I made a thread about NIS 05 in the pit.
Can someone help me with this?
My Norton is fcking up. I can't open my MSN, and some websites. And I CAN'T EVEN OPEN THE NORTON SECURITY CENTER WINDOW!
What seems to be the problem, I never had these problems on Norton before.

Uninstall Norton.
Yeah thats probably the best bet.
I would recommend and Mcafee product as a virus scan replacement

If you're willing to pay money, get NOD32. If not.. I hear AVG and Avast! are good.

I've had ZoneAlarm for the past 2 years and I haven't had any virus or worm problems at all, so maybe try that.
Also get Spybot for spyware, just be careful what you delete.:thumb:

Norton is terrible. The only anti-viri worth looking at are the free ones (AVG/Avast!). I don't even use one anymore, aslong as you're not an idiot you'll be fine.

Uninstall norton and every other anti-virus and firewalls unless you have some valuable data stored. Otherwise, if you get a virus, spyware, crap, etc.. run HJT and clean it all manually, works everytime.
But yea, Avast and AVG are pretty good, and they're better than norton and zonealarm as you can easily uninstall them. I had so many problems with zonealarm where I uninstalled but it still left some files on my pc, and would block certain things at certain times, ugh.

I just downloaded spybot. How can you tell what stuff you should'nt delete. Can all i'm assuming is that, it deletes the BAD stuff.. But idk, maybe this is something new, and should be careful.
^^ I thought Zonealarm was good?
Oh, I can't delete Norton, there's something wrong. Like an error screen from Norton pops up. And I can't even go to some sites, like Symantec to check how to delete. IDK this is really wierd.

You could have a virus messing with your Norton....
What error screen pops up when you try to uninstall it? What does it say? How are you trying to "delete" it? Through Add/Remove Programs, I would think? But it never hurts to ask. Also, disable the entire program if possible before trying anything. Since you can't open the main window try disabling it from task manager by ending it's processes. May not work, but it's worth a shot.
I've had McAfee before. Firewall and AV. I liked it a lot. Worked well. Never had trouble. I have the free stuff now. ZoneAlarm firewall and avast! AV. I like them just as much, if not better. I think I definitely like the firewall better. And most likely the AV, too. avast! has a lot of good and customizable features and monitors on it. Scans kind of slow, though.

It says..
Symantec Integrator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience
Yep, I tried add/remove programs. Won't work.
Yea i'm guessing a virus attack it somehow. Cause I accidentaly opened (if any of you have MSN messenger, your prolly familiar with this) something that said 'HEY IS THIS YOU (tricky link that prolly messed it up).
How do you delete viruses like this? I downloaded Anti-Vir, which is a pretty good antivirus program, and no viruses had been spotted..
