While the song list hasn't been announced yet, the publisher confirmed that there would be more than 55 tracks in dire need of shredding. There's also a multiplayer co-op mode that will let players collaborate, each playing lead, rhythm, or bass guitar portions.

Guitar Hero 2 has been annouonced. I loved the first one, so I'm really excited about this. It looks very promising. I especially like the idea of the co-op mode. Anyone else looking forward to this?

I hope you can use the Guitar Hero 1 controller. My friend has GH1, and it would sweet to rock the co-op.

Yeah, you will be able to use the controller from the first Guitar Hero.

The drummer in my band is obsessed with Guitar Hero, like it was ruining the band for a while. This sequel will probably do us in.

Wouldnt it be cheaper to get a basic acoustic and learn guitar for real?

Of course, but it's much easier to shred on guitar hero then to shred in real life... XD

It was only a matter of time before they had to release another one. I'm pumped. :)

So is there solos included or is it all rythm? Also how similair is this controller to a real guitar and how does it work?

Both solos and rhythm, and it's nothing like an actualy guitar. There are five buttons at the top of the neck, and there is a little toggle thing that you have to flip that acts as your pick.

It's extremely fun, as dumb as it may sound. This is coming from a guitarist of over five years who was VERY skeptical of this game at first.

Sounds pretty boring and like it's meant for 5 year olds IMO :-/

It looks great. It's actually meant to be pretty challenging.

It's quite the opposite.. it's really hard if you turn up the difficulty. A five year old could never do most of it.

Wouldn't the guitar be too big for a 5 year old anyway :P

5 buttons? I assume its one note per button, I cant imagine the solos to be too tricky.

Yeah, me and my whole band are pretty much obsessed with the first one. Im the bassist and the drummer and I are the best at this. GH2 is going to pwn.

I think I might get the first one tomorrow, so I can get just get the GH2 when it comes out and be ready to rock.

And yeah, it really is fun, Ive been playing for nearly 4 years with a real guitar, and though this is obviously simplified, its still a good laugh. After all ,you cant pass a real guitar around at a party and expect other people to play songs.

its sweet. Actually got me into mega death and ozzy a little

the hammer-on/pull-offs are straight crap, so i just alt-pick everything as you could imagine. The song list is much better than you would think

I played it yesterday in a game store, the clerk was like "You should pick something easy, its really hard" then I just started owning on "Cowboys from Hell".

Haha, go play a song on hard for a minute. Actually, play one of the more challenging songs on hard for a few seconds.

The songs on hard are a lot harder on the game than they are in real life. It's very challenging.

The songs on hard are a lot harder on the game than they are in real life. It's very challenging. When I first got that game I saw Smoke on the Water and said "Hah, any idiot can play this. Let me destroy this on expert." Sure enough, I was proved wrong.

One of the things I love about the game though is the learning curve. You'd think it's tedious playing through the same songs on 4 difficulty levels, but each level is a totally new experience.

Yes, the highest difficulty is insane.. You're lucky to get a few seconds into the playing without royally screwing it up.

I think I must check this out.

But, I lack a ps2.

I might pick one up second hand or something, see what I can find.

Tell me about it. I have yet to beat Cowboys From Hell and Bark at the Moon on Expert :upset:

Bark at the Moon is ridiculous on expert.. Cowboys from hell is too, but Bark at the Moon might be the hardest on the game.

I really want that game. A lot of my friends are into DDR, and one of them, who's an idiot, seems to think he's so great, since he's really good at DDR. I want to get Guitar Hero to make him make an idiot out of himself in front of everybody while I'm shredding.:thumb:
