So, im goin to be purchasing a new amp this year and i've narrowed it down to just the two.
I've played both. I played the orange amp about 3 months ago and the mesa about 6 months ago.
Do any of the users of any of these amps on here have a recording of either??
What are the pro's and cons of both from your personal experiances?

I've only played the Mesa once, but in that hour or so it blew me away. I played that and a Big Block, and I'm now seriously GASing for one.
No experience of the Orange, would imagine it to have a more classic sound though

i'd go mesa all the way, by far to me the best amps... you'll have to ask somebody about orange tho

well... two very different sounds. Mesa is a very "american" sound, Orange is a very "british" sound. Those of course refer to sonic qualities of guitar amps when distortion was first becoming popular, but they still hold true to my ears.

Yeah. I've got a 400+. And it is 100 percent sex.
I don't have any recordings of it. Recordings don't deserve the 400+.

the guitarist in my band has an orange, and his tone is the sex. i'm not sure about their bass amps, but i think someone on here has one of their combo amps.
Edit:i just realized i broke 1k... about ****ing time.

it's got tubes
It doesn't have power tubes though. That's where the real appeal of a tube amp kicks in.

Orange, because everyone knows english sounds better than american.
Seriously, classic tones come from orange tube amps.

mesa 400+ all the way!!! i've had mine for about 3 years and i love it to death. greatest bass amp IMO hands down. worth every penny.
only downside, it costs about $300 to replace all the tubes.
