Yesterday, my band got a bit of a revamp. We recruited two new members :D.
We now have:
Lead guitar
Rythem/semi-lead guitar/vocals
Guitar/keys/percussion/vocals
Bass
Drums/percussion
Vocals
I'm stoked about this. For ages I've been wanting to expand into playing other instuments, but havn't been because our lead guitarist only plays lead guitar (he sucks at chords, and rythem, but his lead work is worth it), and no-one in the band can sing (including me, and I was the singer).
With a new guitarist and new singer, I'm now able to write thick, complex, weird tunes and take advantage of being able to play more than one instrument. NICE :D

What sort of band do you aspire to be, and have you considered adding a brass section?

Get a trumpet player, a trombone player, a sax player and a mascot.
That way you could be a crazy ska/punk orchestra!

At the moment we're sounding like Progressive Metal Rock Blues.
More or less, our rythem section is really heavy (influenced by Opeth, Slayer, Manson, Strapping Young Lad ect), whereas our lead section is more into Floyd, Hendrix, Zappa ect. Our singer and myself are from both worlds really, so what we're doing at the moment, is taking eachother's songs and writing our own parts the way we like them.
I'm so taking up Saxophone and Violin. That'll sound nuts on top of drums and bass that go:
Boombadadadadadadati bababam bababam tish

ps: hehe, Slipknot are funny. You'd notice if the bongos weren't there though.

Your band sounds intresting man, good luck with that

You need some funk in there.
Sounds like you're heading in the same direction I am.
All I need now is a band.

Haha thats one helluva genre youve got there. I hope to hear some recordings from you guys haha. It will either be:
1. LOUD NOISES!
2. Terrible
3. Good
4. Excellent
I have the feeling it will be under the catergory of #1...but you might prove me wrong...but i doubt it haha

Ya, we have one song that we're working on with all six members called Mind Like a Bomb at http://www.makeshiftmanner.tk, everything but vocals recorded. After the next two gigs we'll take all six of us up on stage after a two month break from gigs to get some new tunes together, and to update our old ones.
Not bow driven though.

Haha, it's only about a month or so old though. Meh, I like it anyway.
The stuff we're working on now is much more experimental than that, but it's the basis of what we're doin (Ie: modern Rapsodies that flow)
