Hi guys, I already said this in the Jam Session forum but no one answered so maybe there would be more knoledgible ppl here.
How should I record triggers?
I have a Roland module and 2 red shot kick drum triggers.
Would this work?
Triggers >>> Module >>> Mixer I/O
Or am i going wrong??
Thanks people, much appreciated. :thumb:

You have to get a midi port on your computer, or, buy a roaldn TMC-6 trigger-midi converter, and that goes through a unit called the fantom XR, into your computer.
But i think what you have will work

a midi cable would work but I wouldn't say it is the best way to go, what I do with my roland is I plug the left and right of the master out into seperate tracks on the mixer and then pan them left and right. This works well so if you just plug the master out it's own track it will fine.
midi....phmmmph..

That'll be fine. As long as the module has audio outs (which it, like, should) then you're fine. Audio outs into the mixer will be fine.

just take the tirggers off and tune the kicks.

i'd do it as if you were live, and mic whatever you run the samples out of as well. more old skool. or yea, just plug the module into the mixermajig

So is the module meant to be plugged in a stereo input not in the Insert I/O or Line In?
To tell you the truth I havent seen the module yet as it is still arriving but I dont want to ruin it or something.

What module did you buy?

There's not a single module out there that doesn't have SOME kind of audio out. That's their whole purpose: to convert digital signals ("hits" of a drum or cymbal) into analog sounds. There will be at least one audio out probably many if the unit is even semi-decent. You should have no problem hooking it up straight to a mixer with audio outs.

The Module is a Roland TD6V .
Yes I'm sure it has an audio out but the thing is, I'm not familiar with MIXERS. I just bought a behringer mixer but the thing is, what input should I plug it in?
A Line In? An Insert I/O? A stereo input ? I dont get all those inputs and how I'm meant use them just yet and frankly, on these forums I find that I learn a lot.
