I completely forgot how much fun this game was. And I forgot how good I was at it too. I owned 3 level 9s all teamed up against me. :cool:

I liked the N64 version better, but SSBM is still bucketloads of fun.

I remember the break the targets and board the platforms challenges from Smash Bros. 1, are they still in SSBM?

It's fun, but the relentless fighting even on multiplayer can be tiring. I can't really play more than 3 or so games without getting bored. I loved it at first though.

I loved Yoshi's annoying dive-bomb move. and those rapid-fire kicks in mid-air when you pressed down+A. That move made the master hand a piece of cake :D

Yeah it did. Although I use up+A a couple times then the full powered charge with Roy. I've beaten all the event matches except 50 and 51. :-/

I like Melee so much better than the original. There's so many new angles to the gameplay in Melee. It's hard going back to the original because its more basic then Melee.

Samus does own. I use missiles a lot. So fun to do that right when someone is charging at you.

Yeah but if you get a pussy player using Samus, all they do is fire missiles and runaway. Then when you're damage is up from chasing them down and hit/missing missiles, then they will throw in a smash punch.

By the way, whenever I fight somebody in SSBM, we always take off the items. I think if you really want to be a fighter, its not about getting lucky and getting a stupid smash hammer, its about your skill in fighting.

So I always turn items off in the game.:thumb:

I love items, because I think that spontaneity is what makes the game fun and exciting.

What? You can take on 3 9's at once but can't do 50 or 51?

3 9's is way harder to do IMO.

For easy event 50, Pick one hand and use Gannondorf's up smash, lotsa damage fast, then repeat.

Event 51. Jigglypuff, down b, easy peasy

And you use Pikachu?? He's ok, but not in the top characters by any means.

I prefer the GC since I personally find it more balanced, and you wont find people using Kirby's air down+a for easy KOs.

The GC version requires more skill, although you can do lots of cheap stuff in melee, it's no where near as frustrating as the 64.

I'm not knocking the 64 SSB, I love it and still play it, but melee does require more skill...plus the 64 controllers aren't are responsive as they used to be.

I play melee all the time with friends of mine. I'm a Fox/Marth guy, but I've been working up some skill with Pikachu and Samus. A buddy of mine constantly picks Jigglypuff and whores out the spinwheel B move. It usually leads to hilarious results/real violence.

Hahaha yea, that move really frustrates some people, another one that annoys is hitting someone off the edge with marth or roy and just camping the edge with their b charge-up move until they die.

Anybody know these little facts about Marth/Roy?

-Marth does more damage at the tip of his sword while roy does more damage at the mid-section and hilt of the sword.

So if you take advantage of this you can do extra damage.

I agree. I've heard people say that too. And honestly, it's the same game--except one has better graphics, more levels, more characters, and a faster frame-rate.

Its the same general game, but it has more of an edge with the controls. There are lots of evasive techniques that you cant do in the original. You can also hold smash attacks for more damage. Im sure theres more differences other than the obvious, but I think SSBM rapes the original and I also dont see how somebody could like the original better.

Counterstrike and CS Source has an excuse because the hitboxes and stuff are much more realistic and unforgiving in the original CS 1.6.:thumb:

Melee also has Forward+B attack, Air dodge, trophies and a plethora of extra challenges (o.e event battles, home run bat, multi-man melee etc..).

I know they're very similar but, melee has more and is FAR more balanced than the 64.
