Why did Riff Raff have to kill Frank N Furter??

I've been trying to figure it out for days. Maybe it's because they wanted Transylvania without him around, but the movie has no resolution!
That's the only part I don't get! I keep thinking of stupid metaphorical reasons, but really...why did it end like that??

I thought the same thing. Since the movie is so fun and upbeat you kinda tend to forget things about Frank.

Deal is, Frank is out of control and a murderer.

Riff-raff couldn't just leave him on Earth because he's too dangerous.

That's the other thing I thought, is there some moral in that they meant to convey somehow?
I hate when you think a movie is nice then it turns out to have some undertone that makes you feel stupid cause you didn't know about it!

It was because Frank N Furter corrupted the Transylvanian's mission, I thought.

I've loved that movie ever since I was 8.

then why did he say "you mission is a failure, your lifestyle's too extreme"?
If they thought he was out of control, what does that say about all he lived for. And why did they also have to kill Columbia or whatever her name was & Rocky?

He corrupted their mission, causing it to fail, by utilising his powers/technology for the wrong purpose.

As for killing the others, they wanted to leave no evidence, I guess.
