I've been mucking around with this song I'm writing and I played around with some fingerings and cant figure out what this chord is:

e---2
b---4
g---3
d---4
a---2
e---

I'm not much of a theory buff so its probably really easy lol but yeah thatd help me out.

I'm just using that chord and e maj for the verses but I have this other chord in my head for the chorus. I know how I want it to sound but cant quite find it. I'm going for a really ballady type romantic song so if anyone could just suggest me some itd be great. Cheers.

D#minor/B? hmn...
lets put it this way, you got a D# and a B in there.

That chord is a B Major 7th

e---2
b---4
g---3
d---4
a---2
e----

Intervals:
e---5(B)
b---3(D#) <- 3rd is not a flat, thus a Major
g---7(A#) <- 7th note, thus making it a 7th chord
d---5(F#)
a---1(B)
e----

If you want a jazzy/funky sound use 7th chords. I believe you are playing in B Major or E Major (depends on that 3rd chord!)
Hope this helps.

It is the X chord, in the key of X!

ELB, the key is B major because the chord has the major 7th. If the key was E major, B would be the dominant chord and would have the minor 7th.

or a subdominant chord in the key of F# major, or a submediant chord in D# minor

o snap!
