i need a mic for vocals and its just going to be used for band practice so what the best one on the market for this
For vocals, the Shure SM58 is your best bet. At about 100 bucks you can use it for pretty much anything. If you don't want to spend that much then you're pretty much open to anything below that. You honestly won't see much, or hear much, of a difference between a ten dollar Radio Shack mic and a cheap fifty dollar Nady for that matter, but you will between those and a Shure.

Yeah either spend 10 or 100 bucks, nothing in between.

Shure SM58/SM58 Beta. Might not exactly be cheap, but it's worth the money, I sometimes use them in the studio when recording very loud screaming vocals.
'ello everyone. Since my question pertains to mics, I thought it'd be better to ask it here.
So here it is: What equipment would I need to do vocals? (mics, amps, whatever) Secondly, what kind of each would be recommended? This is just for band practice/performing, that kind of thing. I've got no plans to do any recording at the moment or in the relatively near future.
Help greatly appreciated
Hm...quick edit here. If the vague price range for each could be included, that'd be very helpful. Thanks.

You guys would probably suit a good Yamaha passive PA system and some SM58s.
A PA system stands for Public Announcement system. It's, more or less, two speakers and an amplifier (not a guitar amplifier, more like a more powerful version of a sterio amplifier).
Head down to your local music shops, and ask about passive PA systems.
