It's a shame you weren't here for the solo competition, because I think you could have done very well. That was some great playing.

As I said before, it is a hybrid kit.

Amen to that. That was one of the best recordings I've ever heard here.

that wasn't too bad.

I thought it was going to be godlike, the way people were like, best recording i've heard on here. Sorry... that's not meant to be discouraging.

I had a lot of straight time groove... which is good for rock and metal, but it doesn't attract me in a solo situation.
Still, cool sample for just messing around.
Id like to hear a serious attempt at a solo

you say you've been playing 4-6 years. Your on the road... It sounds like you practice a hell of a lot.
You were I was at that point... This'll be my seventh year, but I'm more of a jazz player. I used to play rock, but not as much anymore.

I listened to it again and it really was some good impressive playing... but usually when I listen to audio... I do it very critically, so I always notice incomplete ideas or little mistakes.

note that those mistakes have no bearing on your skill, just on my response.

You have my cred... and that's worth a lot of this forum.:smoke:

As I always say. gear is great, and we all want good stuff, but it doesn't make you play any better. It may help you find a more suitable expression,(i.e. a ping ride will suck for jazz just as horribly as an 18" kick will suck for metal).
The real instument is in your body, your mind, and your soul.
