I cant find a thread where someone posted a pretty good display of the different levels or Yamaha drums... Then I asked if someone can do one for Tama, but I cant find the thread... Any of you familiar with the different levels of the Tama Series'?

The thread you were thinking of was mine.
1) Yamaha Custom Absolute [Beech, Birch, Maple]
2) Yamaha Custom [Beech, Birch, Maple, Oak]
3) Yamaha Stage [Falaka Mahogany]
4) Entry level.. Rydeen ect..

Stagestar,(Bottom Range)
Swingstar,(Beginner Range)
Superstar,(Intermediate/Semi Pro)
Starclassic,(Pro Kits)
There are a lot of types of Starclassics. Maple, Birch. Bubinga....even Arcrylic now. So yeah...

I always thought Artstars were pro level. Lars played Artstar until around the time they recorded Load. I doubt someone like that would play an intermediate kit in a band as big as Metallica.

Also note that there is a Superstar MX and FX, (I think those are the letters) and the only difference is the FX is a wrapped finish.
