The kits actually for all types of music ; thus the EMAD Batter ; so I can change the bass drum sound from jazzy to rocky to funky.

What'dya think?
Jarrah / Maple kick drum for a warmer , rounder Jarrah sound.
6ply 5.5mm Cross Ply Shells (not like bradys straight seam , so its going to sound more toneful/sweet/mellow but less present as brady's)
Gretsch Style Rounded Edges

Lovely. A lefty that likes Paul's work with Jarrah. What can I say?
Is that an 18x16" or x14"?
White Riot!

16" deep.
Oh yeah......... did I mention it's going to be a satin Figured Sapele Pomelle veneer? :naughty:
basically im thinking steal the gretsch bearing edges and thin shells then mix it with jarrah , and throw in a some maple to the kick for warmth
try to get that perfect bass drum sound by pushing the fat maple kick sound up a tad with mids and high qualities from Jarrah to get rid of muddyness
we will see how the experiment goes!

I think the 14" will be good for the Jarrah, give it body to enhance the wood's characteristics.

I say that because Jarrah isn't a very clear toned wood. It's pretty complex and woody.

Why is it not be-boppy?
Be-bop kit checklist
[X]Small 18" Bass Drum
[X]Two Toms
[X]Nice Ride
[X]Turkish style crash
what more could you want?

Yes ; jarrahs more of a sound with a pushed mid higher register , but I would say its more present than say maple ;
mixing your woods will mean next to ****, really your heads/tuning mean the most.
Yes and no in a sense. Thin shells = more character of the shells tone imparting on your sound.

13" inches arent so good for what I want. 14 X 5.5 Good Crack & Great Body = lovely sound. not too naughty not too nice!

I hand picked it from three different HHX groove rides. One was a bit of a dud compared to the other two and this one was the best! :)
