Nylon Strap, Too me it seems more reliable and durable.

I always see lower end snares with nylon strap ; and higher end snares with strainer cord......any reason why?
I do think the cord looks better

Gut FTW.
Seriously though, I prefer strap. For ages I had cord, but it was a biatch to tie. Especially, for some reason, on the Rogers with its wierdo throwoff.

Is there really any difference between strap and cord? I mean like sound or snare sensitivity differences.

Tama fabric strap. flexibility of cord with the ease of use of strap. it's a perfect world. :)

I think the strap is better, just because it won't break as easily. The strings fray after a while. I already went through one pair of strings, and my second one is about at it's end right now.

My $850 DW Snare came with the nylon strap!! Really though, how the snares are secured to the strainer doesn't matter- aside from the look of the piece.

it can make a difference i belive
i prefer the cords
it seems you can get em way tighter with the cord plus the tension is on the edges instead of the middle just seems better to me they work better for wider wire sets too
