Well recently, after a couple years, I had to purchase my first new bass batter head. I got a Superkick I and it sounds pretty good. Heres my problem. I'm going to be recording in a bout a month or so and I was wondering what kind of reso head should I get for it? I know I want to get a head with a port so I can mic it and such and I don't want a clear head because I think they look ugly  .

Like Tim said "Eq3. Eq4. G1"
Or maybe no reso?

PS3 with a 5" port [but nothing on the port to dampen it like those holz things]. Ally did a review of the sticker thingy equivilent if your worried about looks.

The Aquarian with Port is awesome. I have a S1 also, but got teh reso with it. I hate the sound of the PS, any of em. Just me.

Emad Coated + Emad reso, with the big rings.
If you are recording you may need extra muffling, buy one of the proper bass drum muffling cushions.

Well I just got the Superkick I so i'm not gonna go buy a new batter. But anyways, how would I go about micing this?

i've got a SK1 with a Regulator (pre-ported) on my reso, i toss the mic just inside the port facing where the beaters impact, works great!
