Well, I put new heads on my kit and get her all shined up, so I figured I might as well take some pics. Let me know what you think! :)

Nice dude. That right crash looks a lil low mindYeah, it might be. I never get my cymbal heights adjusted quite right until I've played on the kit a couple of minutes, and that wasn't possible because I cleaned and set up my kit in my apartment when I took these pics. I didn't feel like getting evicted that night. :naughty:

-FTSI like the cymbals a lot. I've recorded with them and they sound sweeeeet. The only thing I would do differently is get some more traditional hats instead of the sound-edge hats. They sound great open, but it's hard to get a good concise, closed hat sound, if you know what I mean. It always sounds like they're just a little bit open (which I guess they kind of are, since most of the bottom hat's edge isn't in contact with the top).

Nice kit. Your floor tom looks a little far away for me but that's all preference. ;)

Looks great man, i'd squish everything a bit closer together mind you...

especially the floor tom, looks a little distant

Apart from that, it looks smashing!!

Yeah I noticed that too... The hi-hat stand looks a little weird as well, although he wrote that he just set it up in his apartment and took shots without playing it so I guess it's not all set the way he would normally have it...

-DMCorrect. I'll probably move the hats & floor closer and move the ride back a bit. I'm new in town, so I just need to find a rehearsal studio to rent so I can actually play, first. Apartments suck!

Good luck with that. It would be a bummer for me not to be able to play at home :smash:

-DMI hear that. I'm planning on buying a house sooner than later, but I hear there aren't many available at the moment, due to the large influx of hurricane Katrina migrants who have taken up shop here.

Wow that kit is beautiful, Such a clean set upThank you, everyone, for the compliments.

Nice looking kit. How do you like your alphas? I use medium hats, full ride, and 16' crash and love em.

nice, ur floor tom looks all alone, lol,jkYeah, like I said, I'll proabably move everything inward a bit when I start playing it, but I probably won't move the floor tom in too much. I like having it farther out than my snare...makes it easier for me to reach and hit cleanly without the cymbals getting in the way.

Also, if the hi-hat stand looks like it's leaning to anyone, I just want you to know that it's not because I set it up incorrectly. The floor in my apartment is wavy as hell. I've got a couple of big *** JBL speakers on my stereo and if you look at them from the side I swear it looks like one of 'em is tilting like 5 degrees compared to the other. My apartment's shitty.

Good stuff, man. I love how you have the cleanest room on MX. Oh, and your hat stand is at like, a 90 degree angle to your bass drum. Sup@that???//
