the guitarist from my church wanted to do some jamming, so i brought my new kit (well, some of it) to his house. I showed him how to use audacity, got some mics out, etc. then he showed me 3 ideas he had for songs. we just kinda jammed with them for a bit, and here they are:

it's a WIP. a singer and a bassist are in the works. also, trying to figure how to get the guitarist's EFX loop in the recordings is in the works. and finally, some multitracking recording capabilities so i can get my hats to not suck, the guitar fresh, and some punch back in the kick are in the works.
otherwise, yeah :D those recordings ain't bad for being together for a grand total of not even 4 hours.
oh, and all i recorded on was:

crash, hats, snare, 2 toms, kick. and yes, that's my 10x6" DW. sounds a bit bigger than that eh?
crash is 16" aa el sabor, quite possibly my favorite of all time.

sounds really nice, a little shakey in some places but I enjoyed it, and what are those sizes that you used?

Sounds great, chippy. You guys have got a great thing going. I am impressed with how good it was for so little time, and I was impressed by your playing. I am surprised we have never ran into each other at Ellis drum shop.

Nice drumming, bro.
I don't know if it was just me, but the guitar sound a bit sloppy in some places.
But that was real real good for under 4 hours!
I agree, on headbang I thought the guitar was slopping. But in the other 2 he was good. Liked the drumming though man.

yeah, like i said he's got an EFX loop that's all programmed and just missed, so the compressor never kicked in, and overdrived in the mixers, and just gave a weird sound, he was trying to tweak it while playing and just... nyeah.

Your kit sounds wicked. Totally hotter than the old swingstars, haha.
Close and Near sounds almost exactly like a song I've heard before, but I can't pick it.
I'm not really digging the music a whole lot, something's off with the guitar. As I said though, your kit just sounds super hot.
Salsa sounds interesting. The verse is wicked. Chorus is a bit boring, but the verse owns.
Needs some bass, :D.
