Yeah. Polyurethane, wood filler, a brush for the poly, 80 grit sandpaper, 120 grit, 220 grit, and 400 grit.

i play the first 3 notes of the major scale on 1 string then the next 3 on the second. you should try and run your scales as many diffrent ways as possible

Nope..and tbh, it doesn't really bother me that it's chipped up a good bit.
It's going to be coated in polurethane anyway. Sure, it would've looked a bit nicer..but I don't really care.

ok there is a diffrence between a guitar the works, and a really good guitar or bass or what ever. you can find something that ok at your local guitar center, but if you want a really nice nice instrument you have to spend a little more than 500

I dont need the greatest thing under the sun, I'm not a professional musician playing every night for my food. And even if I did, I still dont need a Ken Smith, Tung, Ric, or anything else tht godly expensive. It's just completely stupid to spend that much money when no one in the world is going to notice.

they're a half decent guide, before the 7th fret you muscle memory should be good enough you dont even have to look at the bass. above the 12th fret they help as a point of refrence, but you need to listen to actualy get the notes right. if you play on the lines you're going to be off

i work arround 3,4,5,6 thousand dollar basses everyday. there is no reason to be afriad. have you ever broken your guitar while playing it? no, maybe you busted a string, or something minor like that. but most pros really arent that concerned on how it looks or how expensive it is. the most important thing is the tone, and feel of the bass. my basses have scars, a friend of mine named kevin, who's toured with derek sharinian, and tony mcalpine has a fodera emporer. it has it battle wounds. trust me you'll grow out of the i dont want to get it scratched phase, and you'll realize as long as it still plays in a great instrument.

my neck trhough fretless has a bunch of scratches where the neck and body sort of meet, but its still solid and sounds wonderful, my fretted looks like it has a knife wound on the back of the neck near the 3rd fret, still slaps like a beauty

The first bass had a effed up neck joint, it snapped right off. The second got smashed because the neck was messed up. I took it to every shop from here to Baton Rouge and they all said they couldn't do a damn thing about it. So I just bought my Ibanez and it hasnt givin me a lick of trouble

bailey is a very well trained musician, he graduated with gary willis at the university of north texas, and now teaches in south carolina. but he's the cheeziest bassist i've ever heard. he's like | ----| that far from being kenny g on bass, him or waymond tinsdale. he sucks so much *** its beyond words. brian bromberg's tone sucks... now i'm just killing the greats...

he did, but mike pope is always at the wooten, and bailey camps. he's equaly good at upright and electric. he's very much like john patitucci, but more of a jazz musician than patitucci. patitucci is more into classical than mike pope

I've got one white leather strap.
But when I buy the wine red Yamaha BB414 I think I want straplocks, an nylon black strap and learn a guitarspin. :lol:
I really can't wait 'till I have the new bass.. I've outgrown this bass now. Well.. It's a good bass, but I like the BB414 so much better that I rarely play these days. :amaze:

I walked in to buy a Nemesis combo at the clinic and I ended up winning a Travellor 550 head, but I can't use it until I buy a cab.
Until then, my dad won a nemesis n-8 practice amp. It works, even though my B string hurts it.

Dude, have fun. I had loads of fun at my prom. I had a hot date (you can see pics of her on http://www.myspace.com/thegreatestband). And, to top it all off, I won prom Prince (the Junior equivalent of Prom King).
It's totally worth everything you pay for it.
The after-prom activities aren't that bad either. :naughty:

There are a lot of negative attitudes about life in this thread. Situations are what you make 'em. I was always very anti prom, but then went with a bunch of friends and had a fantastic time.

I bought three sets of strings, one for my acoustic bass, one for my acoustic guitar, and on for my fretless... I love playing, but changing strings is a bitch and a half. It's just time consuming. Especially on the acoustic. ****ing pins.
