Basically, tell us what kind of musicians you'd like to work with if you were famous and could pick anyone, and what kind of music you'd like to make with them. You can pick famous musicians (Guitar - Al DiMeola, for instance), or just describe how you'd want them to play (Guitar - Jazz-style player). Go ahead and post multiple ones, if you want.

Band 1: Main Band

Warr Guitar - Myself
Guitar - A mix between Steve Hackett and John Petrucci
Bass - Les Claypool/Stanley Clarke style player
Drums/Percussion - Mix between Portnoy and Phil Collins
Vocals - Mikael Akerfeldt/John Wetton voice, Peter Gabriel's style
Keys - Kind of like Tony Banks, but faster
And someone else to play violin, mandolin, cello, and whatever else we want.

Prog, with a little bit of metal.

Band 2: Super-group side project

Warr Guitar - Myself
Bass/Vocals - John Wetton
Guitar - Steve Howe
Drums - Phil Collins

Band 3: Super-group jazz/jam side project

Warr Guitar - Myself
Guitar - John McLaughlin
Bass - Stanley Clarke
Drums - Virgil Donati
Keys - John Novello
Violin - David Cross

I'd also like to snag a mask and weekend in a cheesy power-metal band (bass), if I got famous. :D

I've never seen Dave Grohl so many times in the same thread. I don't think he's THAT good.

Bass - Me, of course.
Drums - Jeff Porcaro (RIP), Carter Beauford, or another drummer who can actually groove. (Dave Early (RIP), David Garibaldi, etc)
Rhythm Guitar - Dave Matthews (he may not be the best, but he is chill :) )
Lead Guitar - Anyone as long as they can play well, not play too much, and not have a big ego. (sounds pretty broad, but believe me, it's not...)
Keyboards - Billy Joel... I love his style and his music. He's got some great ideas... must be that Beethoven guy he likes. :thumb:
Percussion - Karl Vanden Bossche, perhaps? There's others... but I love the work he's done.

I'm not sure what else I would have...

My ideal band is myself and a drummer - any more than 2 people and I start to go insane. I'd probably want Hellhammer, Inferno, or Kai Haito to drum for me; all 3 of them are absolutely amazing. I'm not bad on guitar or vocals, and I'm learning keys...so soon enough I'll have no need for anyone else except for a drummer.

(People in bands frustrate me, if you couldn't tell)

I would go for a new style metal linup with 2 vocalists.

Drums: Matt McDonoughe (Mudvayne)
reason: Heavy technical drummer but is still diverse enough to play softer music

Vocals: Maynard James Keenan (Tool/APC)
reason: Comes up with great melodies as well as being able to get vocally aggressive and can seemingly make his voice sound however he wants

Vocals: Corey (Slipknot/Stone Sour)
reason: He also can contribute to great melodies but he can give powerfull screams, yells and growls better than Maynard in most cases. His style is much more agressive overall.

Guitar: Mike Einziger (Incubus)
reason: A very talented guitarist that tries to apply and make the most of what he knows and knows when and where to do it. Very atomospheric style and could add a softer side to the music

Guitar: Mircea Gabriel Eftemie (Mnemic)
reason: He writes great riffs, he's awsome at coming up with unique song structures, and I would never need to higher an artist for cd artwork or a webpage designer.

Bass: Me
reason: Why the hell wouldn't I want to be in this band?
