dude. If your lyrics weren't horrible, you would be famous by now. Post your lyrics, get critiqued, and learn from your errors. The recording quality is impressive, but the lyrical content is cliche and boring. Your voice is purdy though.

Thanks for the message.
Wasn't sure if anyone bothered on here to listen to songs so it's much appreciated. thankyou.
Music is a personal taste at best so i know my songs won't appeal to everyones taste.
but thats music for you.
The songs on my site seem to be doing pretty well with some very good feedback and a few negative comments also. negative yet constructive so there appreciated.
The song... Rich girl is at No1 in the folk charts so thats not so bad for a boring lyric. somebody obviously thinks differently too you. The song SOMEDAY and NEW DIRECTION are at No4 and No7 in the pop charts so again others seem to dissagree with you but thats musical tastes for you. The song the road. thats at No3 in the easy listening chart. once again over 1000 downloads on one song alone with countless messages of positive feedback is dissagreeing with your comments.
Must be 1000's of boring people online then who all dissagree with you.
Like i said.. music is a personal taste.
But i would still like to thank you for the message all the same.
Many thanks
Johnny

you asked for lyrical feedback, and you got it - and I might add that popularity is NOT an indication of talent. Just because you're doing well in the charts does not mean you're writing decent lyrics. Just look at 50 Cent.

I actually agree with you.
It takes feedback on your song/lyrics to gain some insight into how they are coming across to those who listen to the songs.
My response to the comment made earlier was about The feedback i have recieved which dissagrees with his views. the feedback has been really good on all of the songs and it is not just the songs they are talking about. The lyric comments have been fantastic from the listeners so i am very happy with the positive posts to my mail box.
Like i said music is a personal taste.
Maybe he should post his music up for me to listen to then i can comment on his work. but obviously i would be constructive and positive.

here is a review of my work from someone who kindly listened to my songs then responded from my website with CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.
......................
Rich Girl
Love the melancholy feel and the flute alongside makes this a very good song indeed. The chorus is great too, stands out from the song without being too heavy/loud. I love this song, and you have an amazing voice
Someday
Wow! It's nice to hear people arpeggiate chords properly once in a while, and this is a great example in the background. The strings really help deliver each segment of the song and again this is very good material.
New Direction
I like the way you have a more upbeat song mixed with the slow-paced ones, and the theme of this song being happier than the others really makes a nice change. You are using electronic sounds very well, some insider secrets would be nice . This song really gave me a city feel about it, great song!! The key change absolutely makes this song, keep up the good work.
The Road
Love the grand piano, what can I say this is a great ballad style song, I could imagine this as a film soundtrack making people grab their tissues. Great tear-jerking lyrics, definately keep the acoustic feel to this song.
Like i said music is a personal taste.

I agree with the others; the music is pretty good, but the lyrics are nothing special.

I can see why your music is popular. It's been very well recorded, and produced; I congratulate you on that.
The music sounds very good, and as others have said, it's record worthy.
The lyrics, which is what you've come here for, are slightly lacking. From my point of view, and it seems a lot of people on here agree, the lyrics are a little generic. There is nothing in there that really stands out and kicks home the true meaning. I'm sure with a little help and guidance your writing could improve an awful lot.
I'd suggest taking a look around these forums, read others writing and the comments they recieve, take all of these into account and then look at your own lyrics. Make any changes you want and then post them up on here. I can assure you that you'll get some good constructive criticism.
My song-writing and poetry was once the same, generic, cliched and trite. It's changed an awful lot since I started writing, I now have my own style that people can recognise me by. As I've said to many people before, you need to be the own dressed in flourescent pink at a funeral, you've got to stand out from the crowd.
At the moment your songs are like any other pop song, just you've got a little more musical spark than most. If you can get some great lyrics to go with your tunes, you'll be in the pool.
Hope this helps,
Timmy P

music great, lyrics well meh
Im just repeating the rest really but I did enjoy the songs, they are very listenable, they could sell
I havnt been on this site long but I have already seen that the people here have very high standards, so if your lyrics arent of great standards, then you will get negative feedback, still lyrics arent as important as melody and music but you dont want be known as shiit lyrics with a catchy melody
well done, keep writing
