sorry, I know this seems random.

I'm kind of sick, my allergies are messing with me cause it's switching from winter to spring.
Anyway, I took some decongestants to keep from getting post-nasal drip while I sleep. Also, time skipped forward because of daylight savings time.

So I'm sitting here, in the most exhausted state (night-time drugs are weird like that), and I'm typing and doing ear training.

It's the most bizarre thing. The more your state of awareness is decreased, the higher your senses become. I am hearing things that i've never heard, I'll just close my eyes and listen to the pitches and it all comes alive. It's like pseudo-absolute pitch.

I don't even know why I'm telling you this.

Music is great... that's my main message

[note to self] You won't understand this when you wake up in the morning.

That may be a good thing but some people might suggest you change medication or whatever!

i love/hate when that happens. i used to get bad insomnia where i wouldn't sleep for 3 or 4 days. i'd take sleeping pills and whatnot, and it'd mentally knock me out 99% of the way, and leave me with that 1% consciousness for a few hours. i'd sit there listening to music, picking up things i'd never heard before. classical music especially. in a normal state my ear only picks up the melody and the rhythm line unless i completely focus. but i'd just sit there listening to classical music and i'd hear every layer individually. the song would just unfold, and i'd just listen on in amazement.

part of that listening to classical music thing while you sleep, maybe to the room being dark. It's been studied that in low light areas it's easier to listen more carefully. You're brain is less likely to be overstimulated and can focus more intently.

I hate daylight savings time. I hate changing the clocks in the fall, it's so depressing.
