Ok, so I'm going to try and tune my 5 stringer tenor (EADGC), and for everybody who does it what brand of strings do you use because I can't seem to find any good ones on musiciansfriend and juststrings.com is just hard to find them on.

So what brands do you know of that make sets actually for tenor tuned, preferibly with a .105 or a .110 guage for the E because I tune down a whole step sometimes. And I don't want the suggestion of buying a set for 6 and throwing out the low B, if i would do that wouldnt' need the thread,

Also, will I have to adjust the truss rod for this or not? I know about changing the action and intonation, but since my neck has a slight bow facing away from me (not extreme by any means) will I not have to worry about adjusting (less string tension will make less bow and will make my neck flat, correct?)

thanks for the help :thumb:

ok, cool

any other good reccomendations?

edit: how are fodera strings, (compared to rotosound, which is what i perfer). I saw they have tons of tenor sets, so wondering if anybody's had good or bad experiences with them.

Why not just buy a 6'er set?

Just toss the B or keep them incase you want to string it regular again..

Why not just buy a 6'er set?...
Yeah, that's what I always did when I tuned that way...

well, i don't feel like buying a 6er set, plus they don't come with the guages i really want. I'm thinking bout like 110, 90, 70, 50 and 30 because i tune down a step when i write stuff with my friend. I think i'll just go to juststrings and buy a 4 set with the guages i want and buy an extra C string with a 30 so i can have rotosounds

thanks for the help
