So ive got given a set of old Remo RotoToms with no stand, just wondering how I would mount them on and what is their purpose? Any pics on where they are set up/how they are set up will be appreciated
I know that they are just like toms but say for like what part of the song etc etc are they used for? Does anyone have any audio clips or videos showing where they are used etc etc??

I assume they're used sort of like timbales?

You rotate them to make different sounds
Listen to Roger Taylor on Let Their Be Drums from the Return of the Champions CD. The beginning are rotos.

heres how i have mine i have them one or two octaves above my others they are great in tribal beats but i recently took the smallest off but they are awsome just get a stand and dont start out with both use just one for a few weeks then add the other its easyier to get used to them that way

You can place them wherever, really. Usually they are near the drummer's hi-hats although it doesn't matter... You can use them as regular toms in fills or beats, quick accents, etc. Whatever you feel like :)

I have some, they're great. To mount them, there's a special stand intended for Roto toms only, so you'll need that. Try placing them over your hats, I find they work well there.

Oh man. The 16" is a beasty roto. Sounds great especially with a coated head.

Sorry, But what If you only want One Roto Tom?
Can you buy them seperatly? Do you have to mount them on the one that has 3 stands for the toms? So you have one tom on a mount for 3? Does it suck to mount it on a snare stand?

I can't get past the nasty tape stains, give them a good scrub.
Then mount them on a tom stand.

That's what I thought. So I could buy YESS mounts seperatly If I wanted? Or would I have to buy a tom, and take the Yess Mounts off? And where do people sell these?
