Anyone else like this band? I have Filosofem and I love it.

You should really get all the other Burzum albums. Filosofem is fantastic but it doesn't quite compare to most of the others. Hvis Lysett Tar Oss and Hlidskalf are my two favorites personally, though Aske and Det Som En Gang Var are usually referred to as most people's favorites.

MY favorite is Hvis Lyset Tar Oss. Det Som Engang Var is such a great song. I love Varg's vocals.

It's strange because I never could stand bad production quality. I could just barely stand Emperor. Then this CD comes along, and I love it.

Yeah that song is good. The keyboard part is my favorite on that song.

Hvis Lyset Tar Oss is my favorite. I think it was recorded out of tune because I can't play with it when I'm by my keyboard.

Vargs vocals in that song are brilliant.

Yeah Det Som Engang Var has beautiful melodies to.

I really recomend Det Som Engang Var, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, and Burzum/Aske to all who don't own them.

Although Hvis Lysett is my favorite Burzum release, I really enjoy Hlidskalf as well. While it may get repetitive to some people, I think it is an excellent cd. It has some parts that are just so good it gives me the chills. Anyone else into it?

Technically, Burzum isn't a band, heh. And this thread title is cringeworthy, mate.

But onto the topic:

I love Burzum very much, though I prefer Varg's black metal releases. Overall, I like Det Som Engang Var the best, mostly because I am in love with Han Som Rieste, which is a perfect song.

The next three: Filosofem, Hviss Lyset Tar Oss, and Burzum are all ranked equally in my view, though I do like Tomhet on Hviss, more than the other songs on these three albums.

I've never heard Hlidskalf, to be honest. Is it one of his ambient releases from inside prison?

Yep, it's done completely by synths and keys. Very excellent release, especially if your into ambient music (which is pretty much why I love it so much).

Yeah, he had to resort to those because the prison refused him even an acoustic guitar. Strangely enough, it was when Varg declared electric guitars and distortion to be tools of the negroid race, so you wonder whether the change to ambient music was self-imposed or not...

I'll check it out.

Yeah, he tries to play music that is more true to a Pagan style on it. If you like ambient stuff you'd really be into it.

Burzum is fantastic. Filosofem and Hvis Lyset Tar Oss are my favourite albums. I really don't see what makes Varg's vocal's good though. It doesn't sound like he's trying to get that sound to me. However, I can adapt to it.

I love Burzum, probably my favourite black metal band currently. My favourite albums are Burzum/Aske and Det Som En Gang Var. Hard to believe one man released so many amazing albums.

I love Burzum, I'm a huge fan. Favorite songs are Dunkelheit (who would have guessed?), Key to The Gate, and Det Som Engang Var. Lost Wisdoms great to... I look forward to him getting out of jail and delivering some quality tunes. :D

Does anyone find it wierd that the self-titled has grown to just be called "Aske".

I do, especially since they are two completely different releases.
