hey, i was wondering, is there an easier way of re-coating drums without paying extortionate prices drum centres charge?

Unfortunately i don't have kit bags at the moment, but i will be soon, and from all the moving of the kit has caused some dents and scratches. I have just ordered another FT, 18", and i want my kit to look good when it arrives.
It's not noticable from a distance when on stage etc but personal appeal you know.

thanks

Is it a wrap or a lacquered wood finish?

i'm not entirely sure but after searching it up it says that it is wrap.

Then you need to buy replacement wrap material (try http://www.drummaker.com), and re-wrap them. Or once you've removed the wrap, if you can strip all the glue residue off, you can re-finish the wood underneath if its in good cosmetic condition. You have to be very careful removing the wrap so as not to tear any chunks out of the wood. Either way, its an ambitious undertaking, but several on here have done it.

BTW, you should be able to look at it and see if its a wrap.....is there a seam?....Can you see wood grain?
