According to my local drum sales guy, Zildjian prices are going to go up (10% I think) on April 1st. so, if you were thinking about buying Zildjian any time soon, do it now before retail prices take a turn for the worst - for buyers that is.
That said I bout a 21" Zildjian Sweet Ride today - 200 bucks.

Prices go up man because the companies know we're stupid enough to pay the money. Smart of them really.

Simple economics. They made a large profit last year and they want more. Demand is higher, so price follows that.

good! high school econ is worthless.
**i take that back. highschool mindset is worthless. there is a bulletin on my myspace telling latinos at my former high school to walk out tommorow. the proposition is today! what a stupid way to perpetuate the stereotype of ignorance..

"Simple economics. They made a large profit last year and they want more. Demand is higher, so price follows that."
Demand, and also do not ignore inflation-in-action. Especially in the states.
"especially sticks theyre up to $8.00 now at the place i buy."
I pay 7 per pair.

I haven't heard about drum prices going up for any of the big companies, just the Zildjian hike, but who knows...
Tama announced that they were moving production of their Swingstar line to new premises. Because of this, the exisiting plant decided to have a price rise.
