ok so ive been working on my project band and unfortunatly i still havnt found a drummer... so when i record ive been using just some drum saples ive found so i can program them until i can get myself a good drummer... now i want to keep my programmed stuff realistic so i want to know how fast is to fast with double bass?

for instance i just recorded these simple riff ideas yesterday and at the end there is some sustaining double kick... is it to much to ask?

That doesn't sound like it would be too fast for someone with some good double bass skills and experience. It sounds pretty reasonable. The drummer will need to have good stamina though for that end part.

^ ok cool thanks man... how hard do you think it would be to realisticly find someone to do that?

I like that riff, reminds me of Fear Factory. If you find yourself a decent drummer, then the double bass parts aren't unrealistic at all. Just don't try to get a beginner to play it:)

Someone who has really put effort into their double bass playing could do it, for sure.

Yeah, that's nowhere near insane.

You need to listen to some good death metal to hear insane.

Necrophagist, FTW!

Seriously, though, it would only take someone with, maybe... a year or so dedicated practice to be able to do that. Maybe a couple years. Not nearly too fast, though.

the drum part is cool. yea it was pretty nice for a guitarist with a programer. good luck finding a drummer:chug:

yea that song is not too difficult.

im not what youd call a "speed demon" player and i could do that no problem.

the drum parts could use some slight re-writing to catch onto some better hooks than the obvious ones your using there ~ but its pretty good.

just with my watch i clocked that at about 180 bpm. that's quick, but not impossible at all. i think i could handle this song except maybe for the roll at the end, and i kind of suck at double bass. a good double bass player could do it easily.

definitly not unrealistic but it might take a little experience for a drummer to play the end w/o tripping over themself on it... but there are tons of drummers out there who could do that.. nice drum programming btw

I don't really like the guitar riff at the end. It sounds way too much like another song, which I can't name.

That sounded pretty cool. The double bass is normal I can play it pretty much and I suck at double bass.

Yeah it's fast, but nothing insane.
You need to get those kicks ripping in that mix.

I'm currently in the process of re-working my band's demo LP and I'm backing all of the snare and kick drum parts with midi sounds. They're going to pumping :)

that sounds really really good, is it just one guitar and a drum machine? I think that someone can play that, definetely not a beginner. Kind of reminds me of Chimaira at times
