I've turned one of my old cheap ZBT splashes into a soft mini-china just by bending the metal. Sure it won't do the cymbal any good, but it was old and cheap anyway.
Experiment. You could get some good sounds, but you'll probably find that you'll damage your cymbals considerably, not to mention chipping your sticks loads on the cymbal edge....

can be bad, but if you angle them and strike with a glancing blow, you should be allright

I've seen them stacked upside down but never alone upside down...
Just beware of damaging them, it's much more likely to happen if you position them like that.

alone upside down would just be silly

probably, but presumably they'd just play their own part in a full set of cymbals, not just one inverted splash on its own... :-S

I can't stand it though, they block the bells

..well I don't use the bells on my splashes so - I go splash over splash a lot.

If you know how to hit a cymbal, it doesn't matter much wich way it's held. I haven't have any issues playing splashes upside down, or chinas right side up for that matter.

I have a splash upside down over my crash- the splash is fine because i screw it down loosely, but my sticks are suffering a bit.

I have a splash mounted on top of a crash, and it's positioned upside down... whatever that means.
Hey, Josiah, what kind of ride is that?

I have an 8" mounted upside down my my ride bell, and another on my 12" splash, I also from time to time have it mounted upside down on its own.. unless you hit like a tard, it's fine.

I don't hit the drums. The sticks hit the drums, I am just a mere conduit of energy that flow through the sticks, guiding it.

Does the moon kid the sun when he takes it's place? Giving moonlight allowing all the stars to shine bright? Instead of having that one main star have all the glory, the moon gives all the little stars a chance.

if by little you mean bigger than our galaxy then yeah, little.

If by little I mean that the stars have probabally already exploded, then yeah, I mean little. lol.

Hey, Josiah, what kind of ride is that?
That's a 1st generation Sabian 21" HH Raw Bell Ride. Distinctive to the 1st gen's is the "finished" bell and very different look. The lathing is not nearly as noticable. Compared how that ride looks to the current HH RB.. very very different.

I was wondering about that! Someone posted their RB here also and it looked like how you described!

Assuming that which we saw moved in relation to us, who saw the object.

as a joke one day at practice my guitarist inverted my splash. So i started jamming out on it, sounded kind of cool. Than i looked at my sticks (at the beginning of practice they were a new pair). I had broken the tip in half......

I noticed you're playing with an EMAD. I was thinking about getting one, but they seemed kinda pricey and gimmicky. So I was just going to get an Aquarian Super kick II. (I think that's the name.) And you don't seem to buy into gimmicks. So is it worth the $40?

Well.. yes and no. It has problems. But the foam rings are killer for just the right muffling.
I don't actually use the EMAD anymore. Just the foam ring part, I just move it to the head of my choice. Lately I've been just using 3 or 4 pieces of cloth based tape (like hockey stick wrap) to take the foam ring itself onto the head.. excellent results!
It's the only way I can figure out to get those nice foam rings in that size. So it's worth it initially if you like or want to use that style dampening on your heads.. it's a very excellent way to do it.
The emad head itself is just a heavy 1 ply.
My current kick setup has a clear Emp with the thicker emad ring on it and a smoth white amb on the front with the smaller emad ring on the inside. Nothing touching the shell and just the right amount of muffling on the heads.
It's like Nagasaki when I hit that thing...
