I've been playing guitar afew years and I'm in a band but I really wanna start playing bass more seriously.
I dont want anything too flash, but im looking for a cheap bass which isnt really bad quality. I'm willing to pay up to £150 for bass and amp, and will definately use ebay if it is the cheapest way to get things (i dont mind about dings and chips and can set stuff up well myself).
Is there any suggestions of a good beginners bass that I could buy?
Thanks

Well, I'd go for a Yamaha RBX170, Or maybe you could just get a cheap starter pack which would include an amp as well... Check out http://www.gak.co.uk
The Cort Action Bass and the lower end Ibanez Sound Gear's are pretty good. Obviously you can also try the Fender Squier

This is just the kind of thread that I need.
I've also been playing guitar for a few years and I want to get into bass more seriously. I need a better drum kit too, but this is obviously not the place.
I'm in Australia if that helps, so if anyone spots anything cheaps that would be cool.

My first bass was a shine.. I'm not sure of the model..
It was only£99, but it played great for a first bass, the only problem is, the screws often come loose, I took back two of my shine bass's because of the screws and all.
But other then that, I reccomand it
