As you can guess I'm a noob or whatever. Well i need new cymbals. I have a job, but not stable and get like fifty dollars a week if that sometimes. Well I was thinking the paiste 101 brass. Whatja think. Sound good. Tell me some other cheap cymbals. Just to practice on for now

Cut out pieces of cardboard. Then save up for pro cymbals. Slowly replace the cardboard with profesional level cymbals. Youll be glad if you do later.

I have Paiste 101 Hats, Crash and Ride and they are good but in the long runj saving up is better. I got mine because my stock cymbals were so bad and they were a birthday present. It was £100 (app. $200) for hats, crash and ride and 2 boom stands. In your case this is over 6 weeks work if you include buying food etc.
Its worth it for definate in the short run. I say buy them and then put like $10 away every week towards getting new cymbals and then when you have enough money get better cymbals one at a time.

 50 dollars a week.
Save up for a while and buy something nicer, I wouldn't reccommend the Paiste 101 brass to anyone. I don't know anything about them except that they have the word "brass" right in the title so it can't be very good.

If your job isn't stable get one that is. Either that or get a second one.

I am heavily involved with Istanbul/Alchemy here in Canada. They have a brass set (MSX) which is really only a starter set. I highly recommend going into the next step up, which, for Alchemy, is their B8 bronze ART set. You can buy it as a set or as individual cymbals. Lots of teen players are using these. I think they sound much better than Sabian/Zildjian B8 cymbals, plus they actually are made in Turkey. I remember being poor and needing cymbals too, and just working hard to order one at a time. If you play any gigs at all, don't buy brass cymbals. Get into B8 bronze.

Buy the cheapest you can possibly buy or even "borrow" (wink wink) some stock cymabls off a kit in your music shop then get pro cymbals one by one.

I have Sabian Solars. They suck but they're pretty cheap.

Just because the are brass doesn't mean they are crap...
They aren't the best cymbals but for the money they are very decent. If you need cymbals quickly, these are a good idea. If you don't like them or get a new set, then sell them.

No man you are thinking in the wrong way.. in all my experience they are bolllocks. Saving is the option here. or at least get stagg or wuhan. cheaper but better

You must be right into HeartBeat Percussion no? They sent me some stuff, apparently their Oakville store is much more expensive then their Vancouver store though...
Well, go to a store and try some out. Either that or online at like Sabian, Zildjian, Paiste, Istanbul, Alchemy, Saluda, Masterwork, Bosphorus, Meinl, etc. websites... Find some cymbals you think sound good.
