I've been looking into expanding my recording setup and came across the mackie onyx series with the firewire card option.
I hope to eventually save up enough for the 1220, but thats beside the point. I want to know about the firewire card: does anyone have any experience with these? Do you have to buy it seperately (at another $400 at that!)? From my understanding when using this option, it would enable to record multiple tracks at once, e.g.: record the guitar and vocals from two different sources, going into two different channels, and being recorded on two seperate tracks in the recording program. Am I correct here?
Also, does anyone know if it is able to use midi because I remember seeing something along those lines incorporated into this, but I'm not sure and cant seem to find anything on it.
