Ive got a good begginer kit you may have seen some pics of it on here before but ive been thinking about some advice ive had and im thinking about getting some new cymbal upgrades to bump things up a little!!!

Ive got a double pedal (big dog e002) nice throne (big dog deluxe throne cloth) new hi hat stand(big dog again) new heads (remo and **** lol)

And i was thinking about changing my 5 peice to a 5 peice if u get me. I want to take away my mid tom and replace it with another floor tom is that a good idea? If so opinions on what where and why?

I was also thinking in the sumer when ive got some tim on my hands changs my blue rap to a light beach stain but that may take a while. If you think that would be cool tell me advantages and disadvanteges.

Also theres more maybe a new snare after if im lucky what do you think and if thats a good idea what snares and stuff??:amaze:

Thanks for any help there alot to get through all help appreciated thanks a bunch:chug: :chug: :chug:

1. The first Idea is a great one.(I love one rack tom)
2. It would take ALOT of work for the staining.
But meh get new cymbals like Pro Sonix's or K's or something?

Upgrades are usually good... For cymbals, it's all about sound. Try some out either in store or online (most manufacturers' have soundchecks) to find the ones you like.

Having one rack and two floor toms is personal, up to you really. If that's the kind of set you want, then go for it. You don't necessarily need to replace your medium tom with another floor tom though, you can put it in your main floor tom position and move your current floor tom back, or put the medium tom back, etc.

For the staining, that could be fun. Here is a link to a refinishing guide done by CombatWombat3.

As for the snare, if you like the sound and it's worth the money, why not?

having two floor toms are really nice, then moving the ride to where the second tom used to be is always nice

Cymbals are alot of personal choice, if ure looking at Zildjians look at Avedis-K Custom....Sabian AA-Vaults...i dont know about paiste so i cant help u there

Refinishing is always a cool project, it just takes many many hours

for the refinishing thing. go for it. i did my whole kit over 4 weekends, one drum at a time. it helps to have an eletric sander.

you can always have a new snare.

also for cymbals. try them all out. when your getting into higher level gear never settle for something thats just ok. like what your getting or its a waist of money.

the floor tom? preference

the staining is some work, but its not bad. even on a tight schedule you could do 1 drum a week if you take your time and don't rush. rushing is an idiots move when staining.

score! on the big dog stuff ;)
