you really need to fix those tomm angles, and the crash IMO is way too tilted. nice buys tho:thumb:
Very Nice! You got 2 DW stands for 60 bucks? Wow. Fix those tom angles, there pointing away from eachother.

my only suggestion to u, apart from the tom angles would probably try to find a better, lower, more comfortable position for your splash, its more like a crash up there.

Looks pretty good man, awsome buys though!

nice buys! Like some others said, you should make your crash a bit more flat, your splash lower and maybe closer to your hats/crash, and IMO you should lower and flatten your ride a bit, but that's just me.

Fix tom angles, crash angle and height, and slave pedal placement. I know your feet don't do that naturally.

I thought your kit was a Mapex form the first three pics, its those badges on the toms. Look like the Mapex badges. Anyway, nice buy. We never have bargains like that in the UK

Flatten those rack toms man. At least make em have the same angle.
They are pointing away from each other?

Your toms are anlged away from your throne, the should be like a very slightly angled "V" like and upsidedown triangle. but you have an rightside up triangle which is the toms facing away from you, so I'd say fix it. And also, y are you using a good strong stand to hold up your light weight splash. And a weak stand to hold your heavey ride cymbal?????

the splash is obscenely angled

Hit halfway between the edge and bell or you risk cracking the edge, thats what i was taught anyway.

What the hell? Your supposed to hit the crash on the side of it with the neck of the stick. A glancing blow.
You can hit it differently for different sounds obviously but in all the book ive read and through a lot of drum teachers, you hit it like that ^

Thanks for clearing that up mate, i need to get proper lessons. As soon as i've payed my new kit off thats first on the agenda.

No problem, I suggest to anyone who doesnt have lessons to get lessons. Theres some things that only a teacher can answer, although theres helpful people on here. Its always best to get help from people you can trust.

Did you even use the bassdrum spurs?
Mr.Wiggles
03-28-2006, 02:08 PM
No, i didnt know where they were, and now that i found them, they dont even work. The screw that is supposed to tighten it dosnt, so i just have them sit in the hole. Thy dont work to great:mad:
Talos

Try screwing it out and then re screwing it, then if it doesnt work. Re tread it.

you wont even get power out of a SPLASH by doing that!

Yerp, those tom angles are bad. I've seen 'em tilted waay in, but not out. Look at it this way. Take a ruler, and lay it across the two toms. Angle them untill the ruler touches the rims in four different places. That should flatten those out! And angle the crash and splash so when you hit it you don't hit the top, but instead you kinda hit the side.

I think what they are ranting about is the fact that your toms are pointing away form each other. Angle them so they are parallel and arent facing towards or away from each other.
Mr.Wiggles
04-01-2006, 06:21 PM
Dude, i tried to get them they way you guys are saying, but since my set is crap, the hardware is crap and it wont stay like that. Both the toms always tilt off to one side after about 15 mins of playing, now matter how much i tighten them. I hate it:angry:

flatten out ur crash, how do u hit it twice or more and still get sound out of it? is it that u have it screwed on rele tight? cuz then it'll crack real soon
