Hey everybody, yesterday I decided to buy my second bass. I wanted this bass for a very long time and have been saving up all the money I got through hollidays, scholarship and ****ty jobs. It's an Ibanez SR1100 QM. I really love it to bits. I got it as an occassion and payed 600 euro's for it. Talked it down from 700.
Here are some pic:

And here is a a sound file. I recorded it in one take so don't be a hater hehe.

I'm not sure what all the buttons do yet, so any helped appreciated.
Volume, Blend, 2stacked knobs, 2stacked knobs.

hehe yes definately. My old bass just didn't cut it. I'm in a band where the guitarists has a beautifull fender stratoscaster and the drummer has a really nice kit. It is painfull to stand there with your Cort GB24.

Noice!
How come the neck joint bit goes so far into the body though :s seems a bit pointless.
Did it not come with a manual? My rbx didnt and I spent ages thinking the knobs did things that they didnt.

Oh, regarding the knobs question, I think this (http://www.ibanez.com/wiring/wire.asp?y=1999&w=SR1100QM) may help. My guess is that the stacked pot nearest the bridge is the bass/treble, and the other is the mid knob.

I don't really know why, but it probably has something to do with the sustain. I also have better access to the higher frets. And no there wasn't a manual, I bought it used.

not a big fan of ibanez myself, but i think you could do good things with it :thumb:
Great bass, congrats......
(Wonders if now is a good time to tell him that if the bass is korea made it came out of the Cort factory)

I have nothing against Cort. I love my old bass. But it just isn't sufficiënt. I need more versatality and wanted something different then the tone I got from it. Besides my Ibanez is from Japan.

Nice bass, Ibanez++. Any way for the stacked knobs, one will be a bass/trebel knob, the bass will be the one on the bottom and the trebel will be on the top. The other one will be a mid with a mid frequency sweep. The mic will be the one on the bottom and the mid sweep will be on the top. With the mid sweep you can change the frequency from low mids to high mids and everything in between. Have fun and welcome to the ibanez club.

Sweet bass man, i have the sr400bk and it plays really good. At first when i bought it there was a bit a vibration on the first few frets but after playing it for awhile it went away. Its good for playing super fast licks and a whole bunch more.

I putt a recording in the first post, nobody seems to have noticed. Probably for the better though.

I heard it. It was a bit weak, not too much bass (although I'm all bass, so...).
