ok, i'm gonna get a crash, and a high hat cymbal. I'm just wondering on what type people would suggest. I'm into music like P.O.D., TFK, audioslave, and Hoobastank. i'm thinking about going with an aax dark crash 16" and a 14" aax fast high hat. What do u guys think??

i have an aax dark crash and love it. great instant sound. idk about the fast hats. i have aax stage hats so i would go to a drum place and test them out. one thing to watch out for is the dark crash is kind of thin.
might want to get a bigger sized crash for that type of music. LIek an 18inch. Id suggest an AAXplosion, AAX stage, Vault, A custom, AA medium thin crash, A series medium thin.

Zildjian A and Sabian AA are very versatile and well suited for rock.
If you have the money, try to get some hand hammered cymbals (Sabian HH, HHX.) They are darker and warmer... they aren't as bright and cutting as other cymbals and they sound great. I love HHX's.
Your best bet would be to go to a store like Guitar Center or Sam Ash and just try some out and pick your favorites.

Try out the hand hammered Alchemy pro line up by Istanbul. Matt McDonough from Mudvayne uses em, plus lots more. The sweets are the lightest, but you might consider one of the heavier crashes, like the rock or power rock, which is half lathed and half raw. The sweet hats are great, but again, the medium or rock might work better for you.

IMO, You should have a bright cymbal setup for that type of music. I don't know about the fast hats cause I have Stage hats. You should look into those. They are really versatile and would work well for you.
For the crash you should get something between 18" and 20". IMO 16" is too splashy for rock music. AA Medium-Thins, AA mediums, or AAX Stage crashes would be good choices. AAXplosion is also good if you want more of an exploding crash sound.

you should really go to a local store and try them out before you get them, to see if you like to sound, but my suggestion, well i have standardized paiste 802 hi-hat,802 crash, and 802 ride cymbal and they work fairly good
