Bigger and better things...

So after discovering that insert, i just pulled one off the now-concert-tom stagestar. It doesn't quite fit but it'll hold 'til dan sends a new one. I tuned it up and DAMN it sounds godly.... i just wish i had new heads instead of old junky ones!

As far as i remembered chippy was getting a whole 6 piece kit. so it would be 10,12,14,16 22 and 22?

Chippy569
03-24-2006, 05:42 PM
actually, 7pc.

the toms there are the 10x9 and 14x14

the kicks are going to be 20x18

still to come is 8x8, 12x10 and 16x16

this is how it's setup now:

lookin really nice there Chippy :thumb:

i love my lil ol 14x14" ~ best sounding tom on my kit :D

seems like youre gonna need some new mem clamps there. the TAMA ML12 mem clamp should fit those round tom & floortom mounts nicely :chug:

Chippy569
03-24-2006, 05:54 PM
thta's 'cuz they're tama floortom legs. actually, i'ma get the air-filled floor tom legs tama offers, those things are NICE. I like tama's cymbal arms and tom arms, but not their power tower rack. Hopefully before time ends i'll have all tama arms and stuff with a gibraltar rack... hopefully.

and indeed, my 14x14 is, atm, my 2nd favorite drum, just behind my kick :)

Wow Chippy those look very nice. I was wondering how do you use that e-pad. Because it doesen't seem to have a cord coming from it...

Oh and I love that snare!

Chippy569
03-24-2006, 05:57 PM
right now, it's just a practice pad.

in the future, it'll have a use, i swear. :)

and i love that snare too :D Pop!

no, i don't live in the UK, do your own research for dye :)
actually i just haven't a clue.

the snare is a DW something or rather, 10x5.5 or 6 if i remember right.

i'm not at liberty to say how much the kit is for, but y'all can assume around 2,000

You do know that the Chinese character on your bass drum says 'ai' meaning 'love'? Hmm well if that's your thing :p

RIMS and all that stuff is overrated and waste of money. Thugs and someone else with a rockstar now can attest.

think about it. they had great drum sounds LONG before suspension mounts.

They have a double-thick gasget tho, to ensure no metal-to-wood contact.

well, it has "love" in english underneath, so i think he does
yeah, i know what it means :)

You can take the mini kit out of the monster, but you can't take the monster out of the mini kit.
Today i had a jam with some church buddies, except it was only one of them since the others got called for work. Got 3 originals scratched out, perhaps i'll get them up sometime... we shall see.

It might be late, but if some you guys are interested in raven's work, you can contact him here, this is what he sent me in an email:

Dave,

Can you post a reply with my contact info in your post on MxTabs, I can't get registered to post and the admin have e-mail turned off. There seems to be a few guys that would like to get a set from me, so my contact info is e-mail: RavenCustomDrums@aol.com and phone (***)-247-2877. They can contact me either way for quotes etc.

Thanks,
Dan

(if you really want the area code, drop me an email or MSNIM at chippy4569@hotmail.com or catch me on AIM at Chippy569, but in my experience he checks emails regularly)
