Hi, this band normally use a drum machine but I agreed to record a song with them, 'Go With The Flow' by Queens of the Stone Age.
Feedback/comments much appreciated :thumb:

Edit: Yes I do screw up a few times but I hope it's not that noticable, it was the first time I'd played to a metronome, an interesting experience, if a bit tedious, took about 20 attempts...

The drumming seemed fine, if in need of an EQ-ing. I didn't listen intently, on the basis your average listener wouldn't. Nothing jumped out at me as wrong, so you're in the clear. The lacklustre singing and poor tremolo picking on the other hand did annoy me.

Ooh poor tremolo picking... I'm no expert guitarist myself so I didn't realise he was doing anything wrong apart that from in the real thing it sounds like a continuous note... I'll tell him anyway :p
And lacklustre singing... Yeah I see what you mean there, although he's 16 and the best singer of his age I know so hmm...
Thanks for the comment. :)

I wouldn't say I'm and expert by any means either, but I can still tell you when it sounds wrong. And try not to hurt his feelings. He may get upset that someone on the internet said his tremolo picking wasn't up to scratch
His voice seems to lack power, especially by comparison to Josh Homme's. It's not a bad singing voice by any means though. Perhaps try and get him to sing out a bit more, if you know what I mean?

He isn't singing in time in the chorus.

Hehehehe, I'll question him about it nonetheless. :p

Yes I see what you mean, although he seems to know what he's doing (he's playing the bass and keyboards and also made this recording with 6 vocal mics a laptop and a living room).

The drumming is good. But the guitaring at the beginning is.... Not good. The recording isnt bad though, much better than our stuff (mind you it was done with two mics -> www.blackhatgarcia.com). Well done!

i liked the singing. The lead guitar seemed a little off. Also, the levels aren't that great.
