Get something for the conga to rest on it's side, then play it like a bass drum?

Yeah, I'm not sure how to do what you're asking, but you try out a bass drum riser or something. I had a buddy who used to mount a djembe behind him with one and that seemed to work pretty well.

turn the peda holder around so that when you hit it it come to you not away from you. then just lower the beater . i gues. theres pedals that are made for that but i think they're cost is a pretty penny

There are pedals that come where the are played upside-down. I think someone posted a picture of a pedal from DW that you would play on the reso of your floor tom...just like search for it or something.

Just lay the damn thing on its side and play it like another bass drum. Get a riser if you must, but don't piss about with the pedal.

^^^ isn't that called a cocktail set or something like that? But that's kinda what I was talking about, except you played the pedal on the bottom of the floor tom.

Yeah, it'd sound like a pedal hitting it.
What I was trying to get at is that turning something upside down won't change its sound.

you know, i bet if you got one of those old sticky hand toys, and cut it down and attached it to the stem of a pedal, it'd make a cool hand-like sound.

I'm kind of thinking it would just collect dirt and eventually tear.
