So, I just wrote an analysis of this for English class, and then I finally realized that this might be my favorite movie; even beating The Godfather. It just has an incredible flow and rhythm to it that no other movie I've ever seen has, and because of that there is never a dull moment.

The cast in one word is phenomenal. Ray Liotta plays a great narrator and anti-hero as Henry Hill and DeNiro is great as Jimmy Conway, but Joe Pesci steals the show; every second he's on screen you don't know what to expect of him. He could be charming and flirtacious one minute and homicidal the next.

The soundtrack is also unbeatable, and Scorsese takes music from each era in the movie to go along with it. It helps sets a great atmosphere.

So yeah ITT discuss Goodfellas or compare this to other mob movies

It's not on my favorite mob era, but it's a fantastic movie of course.

What's there to really say? it's all been said.

I watched it years ago and I barely remember it but I know I loved it. I think I might download it and watch it again.

It's pretty awesome, probably in my top ten movies of all time. Everything seems to flow together so well, it seemed very...fluid.

Excellent movie, one of the best, but I think Godfather I and II, as well as Once Upon a Time in America, are better.

It's a great movie. I want to see it again, I haven't watched it for ages.

Excellent movie, but I would say Casino is my favourite in the genre.

I watched The Godfather two nights ago. Awesome movie, I seriously think it gets better everytime I watch it.

I love Goodfellas myself, it bothers me it didn't win anything at the Oscars that year. Then again, if Scorsese can't win for Goodfellas, what can he win for?

Personally, I thought his best directing was for Raging Bull. That Robert Redford beat him that year is bull****.
