Tama's Star-Cast system is universal. It should fit your drums fine. Here is a link:

I don't see why not... Even though the Starcast mounting system was introduced in '94 and Rockstar's in '89. It should fit...
Now Air-Ride System's Star-Cast free suspension mounting lets snares as well as toms realize their full sonic potential with a feel that's consistent with the rest of the kit. Fits every snare drum with die-cast or flanged hoops.
Says it fits on EVERY snare drum. Why shouldn't it fit on EVERY tom.

if ur gunna go with the starcast mopunting system i suggest going with new hoops and the system they now have on their superstars, because that universal system sucks ***. i bought it and completly wasted my money bends the heads and hoops like thugs said. Even if u do go with the one with new hoops and all i think it's a waste of money, i would just stick with the system on ur drums already.

StarCast is perhaps the worst mounting out there.
I would prefer the old tube through the shell to starcast.

Starcast SUCKS
just get RIMS / GTS ; proven effective system , has a few setbacks cause you cant replace heads without taking the mounts off but what else are you going to use without modifiying the drum or its hardware?

Sonor TAR or Yamaha YESS mounts are incredible.
If you buy starcasts then you're likely to lose whatever little respect people had for you.

lol..none of that has occured to me.. I guess your just talking sh*t because you're a simple minded piece of crap tha has heard on here that th emounting system sucks, and thinks that's really true.. it really depend on what sound you like.. it kinda focuses the tone you drum provides, without deadening it.. I like it, but i hav eto admit there are bette rmounting systems.. but bent hoops, bent tension rods, bent heads, and maybe even a warped drum are little over the top..

lol.. that's pathetic too.. why should people lose 'that little respect' they had for you.. man.. I truly admit I have no problems whatsoever with the SC mounting system.. have i lost my respect to you now?? lol, i guess i didn't even have it :)

Just some heads up, thugs knows what hes talking about. He had the starcast system but put normal mounts on his toms in place of it.

Its all simple physics. Why bother to use the tension rods to pull the rim down when your mounting system is going to pull them straight back up again? Most likely stripping the lugs at the same time.
You son, are a retard.
Oh and FYI, thugs is now only twice your age but has more years of drumming experience than you've had of life. So i reckon he knows a little more than you. Plus he owns an old rockstar and knows first hand the change in tone the change in mount causes.

awww, you guys do listen to me
...and youre sticking up for me too ~ i love you guys :chug:
for those that arent up to speed...
sometime last year i posted a thread on how i removed my SuperStar's star-cast system and my results. a few other ppl followed my instructions and posted that they were very happy with their results too. they also posted that their (Rockstar) tension rods, rims, and heads were bent due to their star-cast system and need to be replaced :(

Thug you have made Tama drums something to be proud of. I'd love to hear what they sound like without the starcast.
I'm sure much more open and singing?

I was one of the people that followed suit in removing the starcast mounting system. I still can't thank Thugs enough for his detailed and easy to follow instructions:thumb: Not only are the drums easier to tune, but they actually STAY in tune:)

the mounting system removal alone made very little difference.
the big improvement was going from the die-cast rims to the triple-flanged hoops. even on a snare drum, triple flanged sound fatter and louder. they are also easier to tune.
simply put ~ they now sound like floortoms. (im pretty sure jalel would agree)
either way you look at it... a hoop mounted sus-system is a bad idea. TAMA should make it optional at best.
