I found this bass on ebay and wanted to know what people thought about it.

I've not tried this particular model but from experience Ibanez make good basses, plus EMGs are - in my mind - great bass pick ups.

But don't take my opinion for your decision to buy this bass or not.

It's a good price, but I don't those kind of Ibanezes.

it looks like a pretty basic beginner bass... you can buy soundgear basses in those deals with the amps etc...

The SR800 isnt a beginner bass. Your thinking of the SR300 models. The SR800 on the other is a decent bass IMO. I own an older model (1999) one and love it. Fast neck, light as hell, good tone. Plus that has a 3 band eq if my memory serves me right.

i guess its alright if you like ibanez, but i do not. the auction has ended anyways.

read my username.

it was my first bass, and i'm glad it was.

however now i've moved on to a snazzy jazzbass from '91-'92, and it suits me better. but even though the jazz suits me better, it was a matter of preference for what i play, and i still believe the sr800 has a cool sound.

my experience with the SR models has been more than delightful...i'd say its a great buy and a steal at that price
