Casey Jones - The Few, The Proud, The Crucial
Where Eagles Dare - To Come From Nothing
Set It Straight- My Favorite Words

A lot of these I love but in no way are they essential
And Iron Age? Gimme a break, I love these guys to death but a poorly recorded demo and an album not even released are not essential modern hardcore albums.

Atleast a few of the records on that list will be essential in a few years. Hardcores like that.

Because I would say Post '95 would be pretty modern hardcore.

and Pat's right, this is not your favourite modern hardcore albums, it's the defining albums of modern hardcore, which none of those albums really are.

If I had to define a specific starting point for 'modern hardcore' it'd probably be 98 or so...that's just a feeling though, I dunno.
Like, around 95 Earth Crisis and Quicksand were big, that kinda stuff seemed to die out towards the late 90s and Hatebreed and Bane were coming up.

Satisfaction is the Death of Desire would be an essential modern hardcore album too then.

Unbroken was kinda early 90s.Either way, I consider it to be fairly modern compared to Fear or Black Flag.

I don't think early 90's would count as modern.

Stop making a big deal out of the albums that you don't consider essential being listed. I know he did use that word in his post but he wants to get into more modern bands so giving these reccomendations does not in any way hurt.
