I might just sell my Elite 5 and buy that. Thing is, from my experiences and from what Sade's said, the Elite has a hotter output and, to use Sade's words, "a 'live' preamp" whereas the Studio is quieter and the tone controls aren't as sensitive. It's much more of a "tone freak's" bass, which I'm not really. I just need a nice hot output. I can dial in the tone(s) I need quickly.

Gav, you're mistaken. The hotter the output, typically, the quieter the bass's decibel output. The Studio has a much hotter output than the Elite.
