So whats your favorite music to listen to while playing video games?

For Halo, I love to play In Flames, Dark Tranquility, and Dream Theater (Train of Thought).

How about you guys?

If it's a fast paced fighting game, usually some metal. I was just listening to Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast while playing Batman Begins, it was awesome.

Depends what kind of game I suppose. For MMO games usually death/black/progressive or power metal. When I play CS I usually listen to those genres aswell. I haven't ripped any cds onto my x-box so I just listen to the games music when playing that. So I guess Death/Black/Progressive and Power metal.

Tony Hawk soundtracks are always really good. Usually half the reason I play the game.

psytrance is fun to listen to while playing cs, cause it makes me feel like i am in one of those cs frag movies that have the techno playing in the background. after some nice green its so fun to get into it

For when I play video games, usually exclusively halo I listen to maybe a comedy CD or something form my music library with energy, whenever I listen to comedy I get the words all over the scenery. Like I have a lot of reminiscing of Mitch Hedberg when I play Relic. From some night where I was alone and somehow I felt so alive.

Delerium, Conjure One, Massive Attack, Juno Reactor, DJ Shadow, Sasha, Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, 1200 Mics, Dark Soho...That should keep you busy :-)

It's a good mix of ambient psytrance, goa psytrance, trip hop, and heavy metal goa psytrance.

I especially like listening to Astral Projection when driving or gaming =)

I really only play Halo and Halo 2.

Halo; Any metal that's loud and anthemic (read: no 80's hair metal or power metal) or death metal. Rage Against The Machine is what we play at parties when getting down to some system-linkage with Halo.
Halo 2; For some reason I always love listening to arty electronic music when playing this. The game has that kind of atmosphere.

Sometimes I play Counterstrike or Call Of Duty at the local LAN, which calls for the most spastic metal I can find to make me go crazy.

ahh, a fellow psytrancer...

i like Hallucinogen (my absolute favorite), Scorb, CPC, Xenomorph, Prometheus, Kindzadza, Rinkadink...those are some of my favorite. if you don't know Hallucinogen (pre-Shpongle), i HIGHLY suggest you listen to both of his albums.
