For talent show type stuff do you think its better to play your own stuff, or a cover. I know covers tend to win the crowd over, but our own stuff is quite catchy.

To quote my broadcasting teacher and fellow bassist "The most talented never win talent shows" with that said, if you want to win, play a popular cover. If you don't care about winning, play an original.

same goes with record labels and popular stuff, it doesn't have to be amazing, just catchy and that they think they can make money off of you
