So, if you've been reading the casual, you might have noticed that I'm getting one of these for free, because my brother bought a Stingray a few years ago and uses that for all gigging and recording purposes, leaving the Warwick totally and utterly unused. And since it's a really cool bass, he thought it was a shame and decided to give it to me free of charge (I'm gonna buy something for him as a 'thank you'-thing, though). It's an active four stringer with, I think, a huge MM-style humbucker. And it sounds sweet as far as I can remember.

And it'll be my first fretted bass! Yay!

Yeah, I've only had fretlesses so far. Pictures will get here as soon as I either get the bass or hold of my brother over MSN..

Anyone have any experience with the bass?

I like the look of Fortresses, nice one :thumb:

I have a Corvette $$ with two MM's :p

Pictures of them don't look as good, at least the ones I've found. But it looks superb in real life. Real small body, though.

I'm not a fan, it's one of the "lesser" warwicks, even lower than the Corvette Standard!

It's on the same dungy level as the $$. Shame he didn't have a spare Streamer Stg II.

It might be, it might not be. Still, it's free and has a killer tone, at least from what I heard when he was gigging with the thing.

Sounds like good "for sale" material.

I.. er.. don't follow you..

To put it simply, sell it...

Sell it to make alot of money is what Chris is saying.

Meh, we'll see. I think I might keep it. A fretted might come in handy and as said, it's got a sweet tone for recording.

So here it is. It's got a few paint blemishes and is dusty as hell. Tomorrow I'm gonna get some batteries and record something. Still, yay!

Nice, man, nice...I've found that I've totally lost my taste in Warwicks and have no anchor brand that I love. :(

Regardless, congrats on the bass, good sir. :thumb:

its a fortress, but not a fortress one, that theres a fortress masterman. that pickup is called a J-Bucker. Fortress ones had two seperate pickups. i have the five string version. great bass though, i love mine.

You'll note, however, that is says "Fortess One" on the trussrod cover.

Soundclips up at http://www.soundclick.com/visti

For 2+ years old strings, no EQing and DI, I think that's a pretty good tone. I might be biased, though. I love it to bits.

The Fortress is by far my favorite Warwick.

The only one I'd want to own. In the top 5 basses I've played, definitely.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that, although i suppose you could change the truss rod cover. Why you'd do so I don't know but you could.
