Ok so im thinking, and like most of us. I take great pride in my bass. And ive been wanting to replace what i carry it in. WHY YOU SAY!? because if you saw my case you'd think a terrorist mistaked it for a school bus. Okay not funny :smash: But seriously the scuffs make it seem white even thought its black, the clamps make it hard to open close, inside is beautiful ofcourse. And the sides of the case are starting to open / spread back. So im looking for a bass case that I would be proud of.

What I mean is one that stands out... not just a normal black standard...

Im lefty so it has can't be shaped, It must be the rectangle flat case. Can you throw any names out there or companies who do custom / ridiculous looking cases. Ive seen tweed, which was by fender???? back in the day and i seen one at guitar center used it was lime green inside and a gray checkered golf type looking pants design on the outside, pretty funky :) anyways any ideas???? thanks.

well you could always go the basic then do it up yourself.....

I know "STAGG" makes some nice generic cases that would work for your lefty and the build quality is pretty good.

Otherwise try getting a a heavy duty aluminium flight case and then take it to an engraver

The metal ones are brilliant, but very heavy.

Well I was looking at the precision bass cases that are vintage looking by fender, it seems like stiletto would fit in it, If it does ill deffinitly purchase that. But i saw a nice but expensive gator flight case dont know if i have 200 and change to spend on a case =D

later when the book came out it turns out that the stupid cheerleader mispelled bass wrong with base.

sorry but u mispelling bass reminded me of that

buy one of these and gut the insides. these things are air tight, water tight, and i think they can get ran over by a car or something crazy like that.

EDIT: here is one with no insides (cheaper too)

ive got a warwick rockbass case or summat in tweed, and has leather end on it, quite cool. why not refurbish your bass case.

also, an old case looks cool, as long as it protects whats inside, thats all that matters.

Nice find, those look like some serious cases.

Only problem is you are pretty much guaranteed to have it searched if you take it through an airport.

They might want to search it, and think better of it, and controlled-explosion it.

Just make one, plywood for the outside and get some foam for the inside. That way you get what you want.

how hard would it be to cut foam if you custom make a case or do that pelican idea?

Now that I think about it, it would be pretty easy to put a bomb in the electronics compartment of a bass.

/me departs and leaves nothing behind

just too add to the gun case idea, that one is too small (length wise) for a standard sized bass. youd need the next one up (model 1750 (http://pelican-case.com/1750.html)). the cool thing is, you could stack to basses in one case with enough foam of course. it would be tight but they would fit, though i would not recommend it.

also, i measured by using a p-bass; so check your dimensions carefully if you decide to go with somthing like this (i do not think a jazz would fit because of its width). try ebay for cheaper prices.

I personally have a Coffin case(Solid case, protects well, but very little space for extra stuff) and a Ritter Soft case(Extremely good quality, light, Bloody Solid, space for about... every thing! most basses lies solid and wont move in it.)

I will recomend you to get a ritter Soft Case, i also think its waterproof, but i dunno as i havent had it outside in rain before.

I thik the Coffin case will go over in the "stand" kinda category, only used to contain my bass, the Ritter will get all the works unless i need both basses :p
